Worries about tennis star
Alcaraz says start in Madrid injured
Carlos Alcaraz must fit in his home country. An injury forces the Spaniard to take a break – once again.
Around a month before the beginning of the French Open, the Spanish top favorite Carlos Alcaraz is struggling with an injury. Due to problems with the adductors, the world ranking list canceled his participation in the Masters 1000 tournament in Madrid. Alcaraz suffered the injury to the tournament in Barcelona, where he lost to the Danes Holger Rune in the final on Sunday. The 21-year-old also complains of pain in the left foot.
Alcaraz had recently won the Masters 1000 event in Monte-Carlo and has shown itself in a strong constitution in the current clay court season. Last year, the Spaniard won at the French Open in the final in five sets against Alexander Zverev. His start at the second Grand Slam tournament of the tennis season, which begins on May 25th in Paris, does not seem to be at risk. Alcaraz is repeatedly slowed down by injuries in his young career.
