National soccer team: Leipzig, Leverkusen, learn? What Wagner is planning from summer

Successor of Alonso or Kovac?

Bavarian Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund actually have coaches. But how long? The still champion from Leverkusen is a departure of successful coach Xabi Alonso. If the master maker wants to follow his former club Real Madrid and there on Carlo Ancelotti, Leverkusen would probably enable the change.

Wagner knows the club from its active time when he stormed for TSG in 2016 and 2017. The current coach Christian Ilzer could get into trouble after a bumpy season in summer. In this constellation, the question arises whether Hoffenheim has a chance at Wagner. It seems doubtful that the attacker gives up the DFB job in favor of an engagement in the Kraichgau.

An option called Wagner himself is the full concentration on his trainer training. He has completed this at the DFB since the beginning of the year as part of the 71st per license course. It is by far the most unlikely variant, because in this scenario Wagner could have remained an assistant under Nagelsmann for a year until the World Cup.
