Motorsport: Vettel: Children are against Formula 1-comeback

For Sebastian Vettel, a return as a driver to Formula 1 is no longer an issue at the request of his children. “The kids also said that I couldn’t start driving because it is so nice that I’m there. Of course it’s great when you hear something like that,” said the four-time world champion in the Sky “Hardenacche hits”.

Vettel had ended his Formula 1 career after the 2022 season and has been involved in social projects since then. The 37-year-old assured his loved one at home. “Family peace still exists,” said Vettel. “I learned a lot about myself in that time. I am very satisfied, I don’t get bored,” added the Hesse.

Vettel can be trained as a farmer

He continues to put “a lot of focus on the family” that the time with the growing children is finally limited. With his wife Hanna, Vettel has three children, the family lives in Switzerland. The ex-racing driver is currently completing training as a farmer at the Pfäffikon vocational training center.

Vettel has not yet made a decision about his future role in motorsport. Red Bull Motor Sports Advisor Helmut Marko (82), a closer confidante Vettel, had recently mentioned the Germans as possible successors. “You will see whether this will be in the future,” said Vettel.

He is also in conversations with Formula 1 managing director Stefano Domenicali about a possible position in the leadership of the racing series. “We are still filing what it could look like. But I don’t want to impose myself there either,” said Vettel.
