Daughter born
Formula 1 world champion Verstappen for the first time
Shortly before the Formula 1 race in Miami, Max Verstappen shares his private happiness. The world champion has become the father of a daughter. He has already revealed the name.
Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen has become a father for the first time. His girlfriend Kelly Piquet, daughter of the Brazilian ex-world champion Nelson Piquet, gave birth to a girl. “Welcome to the world, sweet Lily,” wrote the 27 -year -old Dutchman on Instagram and added: “You are our biggest gift. We love you so much.”
In a photo there was a baby hand that surrounds the finger of an adult. The picture also divided Piquet on her Instagram account. Verstappen had postponed his arrival at the Miami Grand Prix due to the upcoming birth. He missed the usual media rounds on Thursday, he wanted to be in Florida for training on Friday.
The four -time champion and Kelly Piquet have been a couple since 2020. The 36-year-old Brazilian already has a daughter with the former Russian Formula 1 driver Daniil Kwjat. Verstappen once said that he was a kind of “bonus-dad”. The four -time world champion is always very lovingly dealing with his stepdaughter on the race tracks.
In December last year at the season finale in Abu Dhabi, Verstappen and Piquet made the new pregnancy of the Brazilian. “Mini Verstappen-Piquet on the way. We couldn’t be happier with our little miracle,” they wrote at the time.
In view of the close motorsport binding of the parents, some already suspected that the youngsters were given racing potential in the cradle. If the grandfather triple world champion and the father four times world champion, then there would have to be a certain potential from the genes, Red Bull’s motorsport consultant Helmut Marko, who is a close confidant of Max Verstappen.
For the first time as a new father in the racing car
Verstappen himself, whose father Jos was also a Formula 1 driver and still accelerated in rallying, had explained before the season that nothing should change in terms of racing through the birth of the child. He can prove this in Miami this weekend. The defending champion at Red Bull is currently taking third place in the overall ranking (87 points) behind the McLaren drivers Oscar Piatri (99) and Lando Norris (89).
