Argentine football mourns a world champion of 1978: Luis Galván died at the age of 77. The defender was a fixture at the World Cup in their own country.

Both the Argentine Football Association and its long-time Club Atlético Talleres from Cordoba complained to the defender family, who won the World Cup title in his own country in 1978. In the final, Argentina defeated the Netherlands 3-1 after extra time. On Tuesday, fans in Cordoba should get an opportunity to mourn, it said on the part of the association.
There was no information on the cause of death. According to media reports, Luis El Negro Galván, as it was called with a full name, was most recently in the hospital because of pneumonia. He came to 34 caps for Argentina and, according to the Argentinian association, is a record player of Tallleres with 503 missions in 17 seasons.
