Paris Saint-Germain beats Arsenal and is in the final

Paris Saint-Germain is back in the Champions League final after five years. The French prevailed 2-1 against Arsenal London.

Five years after the final KO with coach Thomas Tuchel against FC Bayern, Paris Saint-Germain made it to the Champions League final for the second time. The French champion won the ticket for Munich with a 2-1 (1-0) against FC Arsenal, after PSG had already won the first leg with the Gunners 1-0.

On the way to the first triumph in the European premier class, PSG, which previously defeated the English clubs FC Liverpool and Aston Villa, is now only in the way on May 31. The Italians had turned off FC Barcelona and coach Hansi Flick 4: 3 after extra time in a memorable game.

After Champions League Finefinal Entry: PSG with triple dream

The goals of Fabian Ruiz (27th) and Achraf Hakimi (72nd) PARIS paved the way to the final. It should go better there than in 2020 in the empty stadium of Lisbon during Corona pandemic when Kingsley Coman had headed Bayern to the title. The triple is now even possible for the team of Luis Enrique. On May 24th, the cup victory in the final against Stade Reims also waves.

For FC Arsenal, who continued to do without the German international Kai Havertz because of a lengthy thigh injury, the long wait for the second final after 2006 (1: 2 against Barça) continues. Bukayo Saka’s connection goal did not change this (76.).

Dembélé on the bank – Donnarumma outstanding

Exactly a year after the semi-final co-against Borussia Dortmund in the same place there was an electrifying mood in the Parc of the Princes. This time nothing should go wrong. After the victory in the first leg, the anticipation for the French was huge, although it was only enough for the first leg goal scorer Ousmane Dembélé injured in the thigh. The striker only came into play in the second half.

It quickly became clear that the ticket for Munich would not be a sure -fire success. Arsenal presented a hellish pace, pressed very high and first tore the game itself. Star goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma alone was thanks to the initial phase that the lead was still holding. Against Gabriel Martinelli (4th) and Martin Ödegaard (8th), the European European champion from 2021, which has been outstanding for weeks, parried in a glossy manner. To this end, Declan Rice narrowly missed the goal with a header (3rd).

First post, then Ruiz-Volley

PSG, however, put on the counterattack – and was so dangerous. The Georgian Star Chwisha Kwaratschelia hit the post (17th) with a long -range shot, Desiré Doué left a good opportunity with a weak degree (23rd).

Shortly afterwards it happened when Ruiz hammered the ball from the penalty area into the goal according to a standard. It was the Spaniard’s first goal in his 46th Champions League game. And with a little more cold, Bradley Barcola would then have freely made the preliminary decision in front of David Raya (36th).

Arsenal continued to ran in the second round, but Donnarumma could hardly be overcome as with the shot of Saka (64th). Immediately afterwards, the German referee Felix Zwayer was in the spotlight when he was brought to the video screen. There he subsequently punished a handball by Myles Lewis-Skelly at the shot of Hakimi. But Vitinha left the chance from the point (69.). So it finally took a few minutes before the ex-Dortmund Hakimi made the apparent decision.

But Arsenal came back through Saka. And if the English international hadn’t shot over the empty goal afterwards, there would have been a hot final phase (80th).
