Big surprise in women’s cross-country skiing: The German team wins silver in the relay!
What a race for the women’s relay of German cross-country skiers! Katharina Hennig, Katherine Sauerbrey, Victoria Carl and Sofie Krehl sensationally win silver at the 2022 Olympics. The German women were even able to lead the field in some rounds. Only in the last lap did the Russian anchor take the lead. Krehl defended second place with great commitment. The Swedish selection landed in third place.
Hennig already had the medal in mind two days ago. In the 10 km freestyle race, the 25-year-old finished fifth. Bronze winner Krista Parmakoski from Finland was only 11.9 seconds faster. The Norwegian Therese Johaug won this competition. In the relay, the runners went away empty-handed.
