First Bundesliga relegated teams: Bochum and Kiel miss class relegation

VfL Bochum and Holstein Kiel descend from the Bundesliga. For both clubs, the relegation is no longer possible after the penultimate matchday. The Bochum lost to FSV Mainz 05 with 1: 4 (0: 1) at home. Kiel had to give up SC Freiburg 1: 2 (1: 1). This means that the distance from the 1. FC Heidenheim, which won 3: 0 (1: 0) at Union Berlin, no longer catching up for both on the last match day.

VfL coach Dieter Hecking had once again wanted to mobilize the last forces in the relegation battle with a remarkable signal. Despite the rather hopeless situation, the chief coach extended his contract that was actually only valid until 2027 and wants to be preserved in League. Hecking’s hope of having the chance of staying in the upper house on the last match day, but burst against Mainz.
