With the duel between the two-time Superbowl champion Indianapolis Colts and the Atlanta Falcons, Berlin is experiencing its first NFL main game. The so -called Germany Game will take place on November 9th in the Olympic Stadium. The North American football league confirmed the corresponding information from the German Press Agency in the afternoon. The game is broadcast live at RTL on television and stream.

The NFL had already announced in January that the Colts two years after their guest performance in Frankfurt (10: 6 against the New England Patriots) and appear as a home team. Atlanta plays for the first time in this country. Ticket sales should start in the next few weeks.

For the football league it is the fifth regular season game on German soil. Germany has been the venue for NFL games as part of the International Series since 2022. According to the Senate, the NFL deal costs around 12.5 million euros. The investment is intended to set sustainable impulses for tourism through the many visitors. Sports Senator Iris Spranger had referred to added value from the games in Munich (70 million euros) and Frankfurt (110 million).

For the Brandenburg football professional Maximilian Mang, the game could become a home game in November. The Tight End had signed a contract a few days ago. According to Marcel Dabo, the 25-year-old is the second German in the contingent of the Colts.
