Hole in the World Cup Ice: German team early in the cabin
Even NHL top star Tim Stützle is amazed when the German ice hockey team is sent into the cabin in the World Cup preliminary round against Norway before the actual third break.
Curious moment for the German ice hockey team at the World Cup: In the third preliminary round game against Norway, both teams were sent to the cabins at 2-0 for Germany 3:27 minutes before the actual end of the first third. The reason was a hole in the ice that the ice champions had to repair in Herning, Danish. This did not work really well: in the second third, the game was interrupted for a few minutes at 4: 1 for Germany.
“I’ve never seen anything like this,” was also amazed at NHL striker Tim Stützle from the Ottawa Senators in the early break at ProSieben. In his first assignment at this World Cup, Stützle had previously prepared the 1-0 of Yasin Ehliz (5th minute). Immediately before the game interruption, Marc Michaelis (17th) achieved 2-0 outnumbered.
After a good ten -minute break, the first third was then played to the end and the second third kicked off immediately after the change of sides. Shortly before the change of sides, Norway managed the connection gate. In the second third, the German team followed up by Wojciech Stachowiak (25th) and Joshua Samanski (27th), immediately afterwards the hole gaped up again. This time, however, both teams stayed on the ice in the following work.
The team of national coach Harold Kreis had won the first two preliminary round games.
