Bommes steps shorter
This is the new “Sportschau” moderator
The long -time moderator Alexander Bommes will soon welcome the audience to the “Sportschau”. But the ARD has already found a replacement.
The “Sportschau” gets a new face: the ARD hires Alex Schlüter as a moderator, who was last used at Prime Video during the live broadcasts of the Champions League. The 40-year-old will be a team of moderator in the Bundesliga from the coming season and replaces Alexander Bommes, who wants to reduce his missions in the “Sports Schau” in the future. The ARD announced that.
Alex Schlüter strengthens the “Sportschau” moderator team
“Even as a little boy I sat in front of the television with big eyes and soaked up the ARD ‘sports show-now I have grown by a few centimeters, and the ARD still stands for special moments of sports and real emotions,” said Schlüter in the press release. He wanted to “bring in his passion and experience” and go to work with respect for history and full of anticipation “. ARD sports coordinator Axel Balkausky said that he is looking forward to “a likeable, eloquent and versatile moderator”.
Schlüter had only switched to Amazon Prime last year. Before that, he had worked for the streaming provider for eight years. There he also presented games of the Champions League, but also the Bundesliga. Schlüter was also in use for ProSiebenmaxx and Magenta Sport.

Alexander Bommes said goodbye to live sport
Bommes will remain part of the Bundesliga “sports show”, but will only moderate reduced in the future and instead concentrate on his tasks away from sport. He completely says goodbye to live sport.
“The decision to withdraw from day -to -day business after such a beautiful and unique 15 years was very difficult for me,” said Bommes, who was in handball, among other things, at big tournaments: “But after all the experience, a time has come when I would like to continue and set other priorities.”
