The Buenos Aires government announced that the autodrome “Oscar and Juan Gálvez” seeks to headquarters of a Formula 1 Grand Prize and another MotoGP. This project is aligned with the efforts of the National Government, which had already initiated conversations in that regard, seeking to attract great international events to Buenos Aires. The initiative aims to reposition the city as an outstanding center for motor racing and motorcycle competitions worldwide.

In line with this project, in 2023, The city made a significant investment in the autodrome “Oscar and Juan Gálvez”which included a complete renewal of the track, repair of the accesses and modernization of the service infrastructure, all in accordance with the standards of the International Automobile Federation (FIA). Argentina host Formula 1 on 20 occasions, being the last edition in 1998, in Buenos Aires, with Michael Schumacher as winner.


The city is already in negotiations with Formula One Management for the event to be held in 2027, with the first step being obtaining the grade 2 label of the FIA.
