Radstar collides with a car
Ullrich describes the accident: “head -on into me”
Jan Ullrich was seriously injured in a bike accident a few days ago. Now the former professional publicly reports on what happened for the first time.
After his serious bike accident, Jan Ullrich revealed details for the first time. The former Tour-de-France winner was hit by a car last Friday and suffered a broken collarbone, bruises and skin abrasions when falling.
He was “still in pain,” said the 51-year-old in his podcast “Ulle & Rick” with ex-bike professional Rick Zabel. “I wanted to turn a little bird, let my legs fall a bit. Shortly before my home I come on the main street – a driver comes, wants to turn, overlooked me and is fully head -on into the left side,” says Ullrich.
On Wednesday, Ullrich was still in the hospital in Freiburg. “It is not easy to deal with the pain. But I only have a wound hose in it. Yesterday I still had four,” he said. Nevertheless, he will be there at the “Jan-Ullrich Cycling Festival” this coming weekend in Bad Dürrheim, as he revealed: “But not on the bike.”
