British football professional: First heart attack, then gate

An English footballer suffers a heart attack in the game – without realizing it. He continues, hits the victory and only comes to the hospital much later.

The English football professional Sam Hutchinson has said to have suffered a heart attack during a game. The 35 -year -old from AFC Wimbledon had not noticed anything at first, or at least not enough – he continued and even scored the winner in the 53rd minute. Wimbledon won 1-0 at Grimsby Town and secured Play-off-place in the third highest English league.

He felt pain, Hutchinson said in an interview in his club about the incident in early May. And his wife said that he didn’t look healthy immediately after the game. When the adrenaline then subsided in the team bus, he noticed the pain in his chest even more clearly. From there it went to the hospital immediately.

“They told me that I had had a heart attack. I was in the hospital for five days and was examined,” said Hutchinson. The 35-year-old later got a stent from a specialist in London, a metal tube or plastic tube for a narrowed or clogged container. “Now I am on the way of improvement,” said Hutchinson. According to the doctors, playing football is no problem. He suffered the heart attack in the 6th minute.
