Flick extends contract with Meister Barça
Hansi Flick won three titles with FC Barcelona. The success story should continue. The coach extends its contract prematurely.
After the successful season with three titles, coach Hansi Flick prematurely extended his contract at FC Barcelona until 2027. This was announced by the Spanish football club and paid tribute to the work of the former national coach: “The enthusiasm that the German brought to the club as a coach in his first year has again made FC Barcelona a feared rival in Europe.” Flick’s previous contract would have expired in 2026.
The former Bayern coach has been the Catalan coach since the beginning of the season and led the club to the championship, the cup victory and win of the Spanish Supercup. In the Champions League, Barça was unhappy in the semi -finals against Inter Milan after two spectacular games. According to Hennes Weisweiler and Udo Lattek, the 60 -year -old flick is the third German coach at FC Barcelona.

“Hansi Flick made the Barça fans happy in his first season for many reasons: Because of the faith he conveyed to the team, because of the spectacular comebacks and because of the trophies,” said the club homepage.
With 43 wins in 54 competitive games, Flick has the best success rate (73 percent) in the premiere season of a Barcelona coach since Luis Enrique (83 percent).
