Two new faces – this is Nagelsmann’s squad for the Nations League
In the Nations League Finals, the DFB team meets Portugal. National coach Nagelsmann has to do without three regulars, nominates some returnees – but also newcomers.
National coach Julian Nagelsmann has nominated 26 players for the Nations League Finals. On June 4, the DFB team will meet Portugal in the semi-finals in Munich (8:45 p.m. on ZDF). Nagelsmann founded the large contingent with the fact that after the long season the strain on the players could be better controlled.
“We have one or two new faces with us and of course also have a few failures that we have to compensate,” said the national coach in. The main staff Jamal Musiala, Kai Havertz and Antonio Rüdiger, who are injured due to injuries, are particularly meant. The Nations League also comes too early for Benjamin Henrichs, Nico Schlotterbeck and Tim Kleindienst.
On the other hand, Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade and Hoffenheim’s Tom Bischof, who were first invited to the A national team, can be happy. The DFB also announces some returnees for the game against Portugal: Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, Waldemar Anton and Felix Nmecha (both Borussia Dortmund), Aleksandar Pavlović and Serge Gnabry (both FC Bayern Munich), Niclas Füllkrug (West Ham United), Robin Gosens (AC Florence) and goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegs from the Spanish champion and cup winner FC Barcelona.
