Daniel Altmaier at French Open in round three
After his surprise success against the world ranking-fourth Taylor Fritz, the German now also defeated Vit Kopriva. In the third round, Altmaier has to deal with a young Serbs.
Daniel Altmaier was the first German tennis player to reach the third round at the French Open. In his second game in Paris against the Czech Vit Kopriva, the 26-year-old prevailed 6: 2, 4: 6, 6: 3, 7: 5 and will be dealing with the 21-year-old Serbs Hamad Medjedovic on Friday. Altmaier took 3:32 hours against Kopriva for his success. At the start, he surprisingly eliminated the world ranking-fourth Taylor Fritz from the USA.
On Thursday, Alexander Zverev has the chance to follow Altmaier in the third round. The world rankings third in the second game meets the Dutchman Jesper de Jong after 11:00 a.m. (Eurosport).
For the German tennis players, however, the French Open are already over. Eva Lys was the last German in the second round. The German number one lost 4: 6, 4: 6 against the Canadian qualifier Victoria Mboko.
