Alexander Zverev in Paris again in the round of 16
Alexander Zverev increases from game to game at the French Open. He has little effort against a very successful Italian.
Alexander Zverev reached the round of 16 at the French Open without great effort. The 28-year-old won 6: 2, 7: 6 (7: 4), 6: 1 in Paris. At the second Grand Slam tournament of the tennis season, he stands in series in the top 16. In the past four years, Zverev made it at least into the semi-finals, in 2024 he only had to surrender to Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in five sets.
Against Cobolli, Zverev converted his fourth match ball after 2:30 hours. The world ranking in third is now dealing with the Dutch Tallon Griekspoor on Monday, against which he most recently won in Munich on the way to the title in three highly contested sentences.
Zverev is also a clear favorite against the Dutch. After that, it should be much more difficult for him. In the quarter-finals there could be a duel with a record grand slam champion Novak Djokovic from Serbia, and Jannik Sinner would very likely wait in the semifinals. The world ranking of Italy outclassed the Czech Jiri Lehecka 6: 0, 6: 1, 6: 2 in his third round match and showed almost flawless clay court tennis.
