EM general rehearsal
DFB women shoot Austria 6-0
A month before the European Championship in Switzerland, the German DFB soccer players play great. Sydney Lohmann and Selina Cerci in particular take their chance in Vienna.
The German footballers celebrated a peat festival in their European Championship general rehearsal. The selection of national coach Christian Wück robbed the last nerve in the 6-0 (6: 0) in Vienna in Vienna. Four days after the 4-0 in Bremen against the Netherlands, the DFB women put on a lightning start: after only 14 seconds they led them through a goal from Sydney Lohmann-and then continued to storm.
The midfielder from FC Bayern recommended another goal (39th minute) for the European Championship from July 2 to 27 in Switzerland. Lea Schüller (9th minute), Selina Cerci (26th), Klara Bühl (31st) and Laura Freiang (43.) also met for the Olympic thirds in front of only 5150 spectators in the Franz Horr Stadium.
Trainer Wück experimented again
Since the DFB selection had already qualified prematurely for the Final Four in the Nations League in autumn, Wück still used the game for personnel experiments. “The players who are still coming in is about showing themselves. We need the entire squad,” he said in the ARD.
As announced, the 51-year-old switched his starting eleven to four positions: As a playmaker, Frankfurt’s freedom for the recently so strong Linda Dallmann started. Their Bayern colleague Lohmann represented Sjoeke Nüsken in midfield. The Munich woman Franziska Kett ran as a left -back, and Hoffenheim’s Cerci occupied the right wing for Jule Brand with a lot of vigor.
Schüller’s next goal in the anniversary game
The Austrians around Captain Sarah Zadrazil from FC Bayern missed the European Championship participation-and were shown by their opponents. After Lohmann’s 1-0, Schüller dusted off when goalkeeper Mariella El Sherif could only clap the Bühl ball. It was already the 52nd goal in the 75th international match of the Munich woman.
Attack on attack rolled towards the Austria goal, even if the German women wobbled a few times in the back. Cerci then used a flank of the striking Bühl to 3: 0 before the left wing themselves shot flat for 4: 0. Before the break, Lohmann cheered again and then also free.
DFB cadematoimination on June 12th
Wück changed three times for the second half. The pressure of the European Championships from 2022 hardly decreased. However, Austria pulled back a long way so as not to collect a double -digit result.
Of adverse beginnings and European dominance – the history of German women’s football
A ban on women’s football imposed in 1955 in 1955 was largely disregarded, international games were still organized and held. This scene comes from a game of a forerunner of the 1957 European Championship, which was organized by the International Ladies Football Association and played for the title in which four teams – West Germany, England, Austria and the Netherlands. The national coach nominates his 23-person contingent on June 12, before going to Herzogenaurach on June 19. It is still open whether Bayern star Lena Oberdorf stays in the squad. The 23-year-old has not played a single game since her cruciate ligament tear.
Striker Cora Zicai, who had left due to muscular problems, is also questionable for Switzerland. The first European Championship game is on July 4 against Poland. Other group opponents of the eight -time European champion are Denmark and Sweden.
