The dream final at the French Open is perfect. The two best tennis players are fighting for the title in Paris on Sunday. Jannik Sinner against Carlos Alcaraz – it is currently not better in men’s tennis.

The world ranking of the Sinner prevailed in the semi-finals against Novak Djokovic 6: 4, 7: 5, 7: 6 (7: 3). Defending champion Alcaraz switched off Lorenzo Musetti and benefited from the injury -related task of his opponent. Musetti was no longer able to continue playing at 4: 6, 7: 6 (7: 3), 6: 0, 2: 0 from Alcaraz’s perspective.

This Saturday (3 p.m./Eurosport) the world rankings Aryna Sabalenka and number two in the world, Coco Gauff from the USA, will be fighting for the title. In the juniors there is a German duel between the two 17-year-old Max Schönhaus and Niels McDonald.

Great duel between Sinner and Djokovic

Sinner and Djokovic fought a gripping and high-class semi-final duel. The 38 -year -old Djokovic won in four sets in the quarter -finals against Alexander Zverev. And against number one in the world, the record-Grand slam champion showed that it can still keep up with the best even at an advanced age.

But Sinner presented himself again in an incredible form against Djokovic. After 46 minutes, the Italian got the first set. Djokovic defended himself as well as at the beginning of the second sentence the most spectacular rallies of the game. But Sinner always had an answer ready.

When he opened to the sentence in the second round at the stand of 5: 4, Djokovic collected all his strength again and managed the re-break. “Novak, Novak” consultation choirs could be heard in the fully occupied stadium, which was filled with numerous celebrities. But Sinner stayed cool, Djokovic immediately took off the service again and used his second set ball a little later.

Djokovic could be treated afterwards, the boutinner was now more and more noticeable. Nevertheless, he continued to fight against that. At 5: 4 he even had three set balls, but Sinner fended off everyone. The Laola spilled through the stadium, it went into the tiebreak. There Sinner made everything clear and is still without loss of sets. “I had to play my best tennis to beat him. He once again showed what inspiration he is for all of us,” said Sinner about Djokovic.

Before the game on the Court Philippe-Chatrier, Alcaraz quickly went to the footprint of Rafael Nadal and had taken a photo. The stone badge has been adorned with the Center Court in Paris since this year and was published in the emotional honor of the 14-time Paris champion at the beginning of this year’s tournament.

But at the beginning of the semi -final, Alcaraz did not play like his legendary compatriot, who ended his career last year and had always shown his best tennis in the Stade of Roland Garros. Alcaraz had a lot of trouble with Musetti, who seamlessly established his strong performance in the course of the tournament.

Musetti strongly for two sentences, then injured

Alcaraz had to hand in the first sentence and also had difficulties afterwards. In the second round it was a break in the front twice, but Musetti came back. At 3: 4, Alcaraz angrily kicked his bank. It was only in the tie -break that the Spaniard managed the sentence – after that nothing worked at Musetti.

Alcaraz, on the other hand, turned up and gave his Italian rival no chance. In just 21 minutes, Alcaraz got the third set, Musetti already seemed struck there and was treated. The Italian tried again, but at the beginning of the fourth set it was no longer possible.

“It is never nice to win a match in this way,” said Alcaraz after meeting in an interview on the court. “Lorenzo played such a great clay court season. I hope that he will quickly get well again.” Musetti was disappointed with the end of the game. “I knew that I had to play the best tennis of my career against him and that was a success for two sentences. But then I felt a pull and it just didn’t work anymore,” said the world ranking seventh.
