Stanley Cup: NHL final: Draisaitl shoots Edmonton again to victory

The Edmonton Oilers came back in the final series around the Stanley Cup thanks to Leon Draisaitl. In the fourth game against the Florida Panthers, the German ice hockey star scored 5: 4 (0: 3, 3: 0, 1: 1) success. The Oilers equalized in the best-of-Seven series to 2: 2 after victories. The team, which is the first to win four games, is the champion of the North American league NHL.

Draisaitl had already won the winning goal in the extension in the opening game, this time the 29-year-old scored after a good eleven minutes of the extras season. In NHL history, Draisaitl is only the third player who scored a goal in the extension in a final series. “He is one of the best players in the world,” said teammate Wassili Podkolzin about Edmonton’s match winner. “He is incredible, we can always rely on him,” added Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.

Oilers shoot 0: 3 deficit

The Oilers achieved the victory, although after the first third they were already 0: 3. But in the second round, the guests scored the equalizer within almost twelve minutes through three goals, Draisaitl was involved in the 3: 3 of Podkolzin by template. In the middle of the third third, Edmonton even took the lead, but the Panthers saved themselves through a gate 20 seconds before the end of the passage.

There Draisaitl became a match winner again, three of the four games so far were only decided in extra time. This has only happened four times in the final history of the NHL. The series is now moving back to Edmonton, where the fifth game rises on Saturday (local time). In the previous year, Florida had won the title in seven games.
