The Federal Statistical Office has announced that the admission prices for indoor and outdoor pools attract vigorously- the number of offers remains high.

If you are looking for cooling in the outdoor pool in view of the hot days in Germany, you will pay much more for admission than a year ago. The prices rose on average by 5.7 percent compared to last year (comparison period May 2024 and May 2025). This is a strong increase. In total, admission prices fluctuate between four and almost eleven euros. Most prices are five to eight euros.

The Federal Statistical Office for Bathroom Office has better news. The cost of sports and bathing clothing among men rose by 0.6 percent. Women get more favorable this year: they pay 1.1 percent less for the swimsuit than in the previous year. For comparison: the overall consumer prices rose by 2.1 percent in the same period.

High density of natural and outdoor pools in Germany

The number of outdoor and natural baths is high in Germany. According to the German Society for Bathroom, there are a total of 2,800 outdoor pool offers and around 570 natural baths, it said. On average, nobody lives away from a bathing option by car. Nevertheless, the differences are large depending on the region. According to the statistics, you have to plan more than 20 minutes by car, including in less populated regions in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Brandenburg, in northern Saxony-Anhalt and in parts of Rhineland-Palatinate.

Baths are a popular training company. In 2023, a good 600 people started training as a specialist for bathrooms, commonly called lifeguard or swimming master. That was a little more (plus 3.0 percent) than a year earlier. More than two thirds (67.6 percent) of the new trainees were men. The number of people who have started this training has increased by more than a quarter (27.5 percent) within ten years.
