On February 16, Russian boxer Kostya Tszyu supported MMA fighter Magomed Ismailov before the fight with Nigerian Olanrewaju Durodola.
Tszyu came to training to Ismailov and gave him instructions.
“Here you need the correct alignment of the battle, the work plan. This is of great importance. We are not going out against a beginner, but against a serious boxer. If he stands in front of him without moving, he may miss,” Tszyu said.
Ismailov, in turn, noted that it was a great honor for him to study under the leadership of Tszyu.
“If I had been told then that you would work like that with Konstantin Tszyu in the boxing ring and he would prompt, I would say:“ You are crazy, ”the athlete admits.
Tszyu’s plans to train with Ismailov became known on February 13. Then the boxer said that the lesson would help Ismailov “tune in to the right fight.” At the same time, Tszyu added that he always experiences mixed feelings in situations where boxers and MMA fighters appear in the ring at the same time.
