Real Madrid with his new coach Xabi Alonso initially has to do without Kylian Mbappé at the Club World Cup in the USA. The French national football player has acute gastroenteritis and was taken to the hospital for examination and treatment, as the Madrilenians announced. It is open whether the 26-year-old striker star will be used at the XXL tournament after surviving the gastrointestinal flu.
Mbappé was missing at the debut of the former Leverkusen master coach Alonso (43). Spain’s record champions had not got beyond a lean 1-1 (1: 1) against Al-Hilal from Saudi Arabia in the first group game in Miami. In front of 62,415 spectators in the Hard Rock Stadium, the Youngster Gonzalo Garcia, which was upgraded for the diseased Mbappé, brought the royal in the lead after a counterattack (34th minute).
