In a decision with high symbolic content, the King Felipe VI of Spain gave this Thursday the first noble titles of his reignafter ten years of his proclamation as head of state. Among the distinguished ones is the extenist Rafael Nadalwho received the title of Marqués de Llent de Mallorcain recognition of his sports career and his contribution to the country’s international prestige.

“They are a source of pride for Spain and permanent reference of values that must inspire our society”, Said the Royal House in the official statement released by the Palacio de la Zarzuela.


Born on the island of Majorcawhere still resides, Nadal, 39 and retired from the professional circuit since 2024, won 22 Grand Slam titles and is considered one of the greatest icons of Spanish sport.
