The Governor of the Province of Buenos Aires confirmed that they appealed to the Supreme Court for the elimination of the SUBE Network.

The Governor of the Province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, confirmed this Wednesday that they resorted to the Supreme Court to protest against the national government’s initiative to eliminate the benefit of SUBE Network, and assured that it is about “a direct attack on the people of Buenos Aires.”

The elimination of the subsidy for the second and third trip in the Province’s transport unleashed a new confrontation between the administration of Javier Milei and the Buenos Aires government, which will mark a new judicial episode between both parties.

In this regard, and during a press conference in the Golden Room of the Government House, Kicillof said: “It is the fifth claim that we presented to the Supreme Court for funds that the national government takes from us: We will continue fighting for the resources that belong to the people of the province of Buenos Aires.”

“We will continue to fight for the resources that belong to the people of the province of Buenos Aires,” said Kicillof.

Prior to this dispute, the provincial leader had gone to the highest court for the Teacher Incentive and the funds to strengthen security and compensate public transportation in the interior and the provincial pension fund.

In addition to the governor, the ministers of Government were present at the conference, Carlos Biancoand Health, Nicholas Kreplak.

On the other hand, Kicillof explained: “Remove the discount on the second and third trip “This is not a blow to our government, but a direct attack on the people of Buenos Aires.”

He also stressed: “They tried to camouflage it as if it were a responsibility of the Province, but it was the national Government that cut the funds and “It hurt the pockets of workers.”

Finally, he said that “the national government is not doing anything new: as has happened many times in Argentina, they are taking away funding from the provinces while transferring more responsibilities to them,” and concluded: “The only budget item that is growing is the payment of interest on the debt: “They are taking resources from the people to give them to creditors.”
