Caravans are almost always towed by combustion engines. That’s not climate-friendly. Our author tried camping with an electric car – with mixed results.
It’s quite impressive what was delivered to our front door on this autumn Thursday: a caravan for testing, measuring 10.17 meters long and weighing a good three tonnes. There is no parking space for such a bulky duo of a limousine from Kia (South Korea) and a caravan from Knaus Tabbert (Jandelsbrunn, Bavaria), even in our rural residential area. There’s only one thing left to do: unplug the caravan and park both vehicles individually. We’re not the only ones who need so much space. On our one-and-a-half-kilometer-long street, a monstrous Wohlmobile appears every 100 meters. The camping boom seems unbroken.
