Ferrari, Rolls-Royce and more: Assad left behind this luxurious car collection

Former Syrian ruler Bashar al-Assad has fled. His belongings fell into the hands of the rebels. Including an incredible collection of rare cars.
It looks like the premises of a larger car dealer: Not far from the magnificent gardens of the abandoned Syrian presidential palace of the fugitive ex-dictator Bashar al-Assad, you can see from the outside several buildings with light-colored roofs and many vehicles in front of them. After the fall of the regime, photos from inside the largest hall were made public for the first time – and they provide a deep insight.

Car collection for millions
Something that many people suspected but never officially saw: Assad lived in luxury while three quarters of the population lived below the poverty line. Some of the most expensive vehicles in the world are lined up close together in the inconspicuous hall. The recording shows someone driving through a large hall. And no matter where you look, everywhere you see cars that may only be found once in Syria.
There would be, for example:
- Lamborghini Diablo
- Mercedes Benz SLS AMG
- Audi R8
- Ferrari F50
- Lamborghini LM002
- Mercedes Benz 600
- Aston Martin Rapide
- Ferrari Countach
- Rolls Royce Phantom
- Bentley Continental GT
- Cadillac Escalade
- Toyota FJ Cruiser
- Revcon Trailblazer
It is difficult to estimate how much value the ex-dictator accumulated in this hall alone. But it will be well into the double-digit million range. Depending on its condition, the Ferrari F50 alone brings more than five million euros at auction, most recently around . In addition to the “pearls” mentioned, there are also countless high-priced sedans and SUVs that are hardly noticeable in this collection.

Further
Bashar al-Assad parked his cars near his palace
He was able to verify that the clip was actually created in the hall in question. Based on the sunlight in the video, the roof structure of the building and adjacent trees, he assumes that the footage is real and was filmed in close proximity to the palace.
Bashar al-Assad’s car collection is very reminiscent of the photos of the collection of the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, which recently found their way to the public. But Bolkiah once again overshadows Assad. During his reign, which has now lasted over 50 years, he was apparently able to amass thousands of extremely rare cars. The trade magazine “” assumes that the value of his fleet is in the billions. This is also because the Sultan had many cars built just for himself, such as the Ferrari F90, whose existence the manufacturer even denied for a long time.
You may soon be able to see more details of the Assad collection – so far there are only the very poor photos on X. Anyone who wants to take a closer look at the Sultan of Brunei’s cars can now do so in one go.
