Hail was even recorded in the Costanera Norte, Palermo and other Buenos Aires neighborhoods. And there was even an incipient “tornado” in Mar Chiquita.

The phenomenon lasted less than 20 minutes and caused a temperature dropgoing from about 35 degrees of initial thermal sensation to almost 30 degrees. It also forced many people who were enjoying the New Year’s holiday outdoors to seek shelter from the rain.
At 5 p.m. hail fell again on Avenida Costanera. The C5N journalist, Mariano Onegasaid that the pieces of ice were approximately 5 cm in size.
