The IAA auto show in Munich continues until Sunday. At least nine activists who protested against the fair on several highways in Bavaria must remain in preventive detention for the same length of time.
After the protest against the IAA Mobility auto show on several motorways in the Munich area, at least nine demonstrators will remain in custody until Sunday evening.
According to court spokesman Thomas Lindinger, the Erding District Court took the women and men into preventive detention due to the Bavarian Police Act. Several media had reported about it.
As Lindinger reported on Wednesday, after the protests at the start of the IAA the day before, a total of ten people, six women and four men, were brought before the three investigative judges of the district court. In nine cases, detention was ordered until the weekend and one person was released. The order is valid until 6 p.m. on Sunday, i.e. for the duration of the trade fair.
On Tuesday, activists posted banners on several motorways and roped off some of the motorway bridges. Trunk roads had to be temporarily closed because of this, and sometimes long traffic jams formed. The police said that 26 people involved were being investigated, among other things, for dangerous interference with road traffic and coercion.
