Live healthy
“In Upper Austria we work every day to ensure that the people in our country can live well and healthily – today and into old age. As in all areas of our society and the economy, we also face personnel challenges in the health care system. Now is the right time to take the step into care – into a beautiful profession that is a vocation,” says health officer LH-Stv. in Mag.a Christine Haberlander.
“With the Upper Austrian nursing grant, we want to create financial incentives for training in nursing, because jobs in nursing and care are incredibly exciting and varied. More than any other industry, nursing has to strive for young people, which is why we are taking various measures to inspire both newcomers and those switching to nursing and care . Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer.
“The Upper Austrian nursing grant is particularly aimed at young people who are interested in caring for people in a hospital or nursing home. The training in nursing is crisis-proof and varied. A job in nursing is a secure job and a job in nursing is a diverse profession that requires a high level of skills and offers many opportunities With the Upper Austrian nursing grant, we ensure that the training already scores with a financial bonus,” says Social Provincial Councilor Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer for training in nursing and care.

In order to offer interested parties and trainees a compact overview, the health and social departments have set up a joint web portal at www.ooe-pflegestipendium.at. In addition to an interactive element to find the right application office, the portal provides information on scholarships, eligibility, and training opportunities. The ooh. Nursing grant benefits the entire nursing landscape. Two-thirds of jobs in long-term care are so-called social care professions. It was important to the Social Provincial Councilor Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer that the nursing grant should also go to these important professional groups. Upper Austria has therefore decided to take additional financial means into its own hands and to make the nursing grant possible for social care professions in work with the elderly, accompanying the disabled, work for the disabled and family work. This significantly expands the group of beneficiaries. Pupils from agricultural colleges who are completing their fourth-year training in specialist social care are also taken into account. “Every nurse makes a valuable contribution to our society, regardless of their training focus and their area of activity. It was therefore clear to us that we would extend the federal premium to the social care professions and take additional funds into our hands,” says Social Provincial Councilor Dr. Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer.
