The fair represents “an opportunity for Argentine companies to position their products in the Middle East and African market,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

The Argentine pavilion has an area of ​​906 square meters, being the largest that Argentina has had in this fair.

More than 5,000 leading global brands from 120 countries participate in the fair.

According to the report of the International Trade Center, “The Middle East represents 7% of world imports of processed foods and agri-food products, with almost US$ 70,000 million,” with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates leading the group.

Among other participants, the managing partner of the Argentine company OK Word SAS, Omar Kabbara, stated that “it is very important to be supported by the Foreign Ministry, since it opens the doors for us to seek new markets and thus maintain job sources and project ourselves to grow”. .

Meanwhile, the sales specialist at Pietrelli Fruit -a family business dedicated to the production and export of dehydrated plums, plum puree and seedless raisins- Alex Jurado said that “at the fair there is a great exchange with buying companies and another suppliers”.

“We hope to be able to carry out operations with new companies and renew ties with those we have been working with for years,” Jurado said.

Once the Gulfood Fair is over, part of the delegation of companies (27 from different provinces of the country) will travel to Riyadh, where the national director of Export Promotion, Laura Tuero, will lead a Commercial Mission of the Food Sector to Saudi Arabia,

This is an activity that is part of the bilateral roadmap for 2023 proposed by Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero to the Minister of Commerce of Saudi Arabia during his visit to Riyadh in November last year.
