For an average household, the increase in costs will drop from 9 euros to 2 euros per month, E-Control board member Wolfgang Urbantschitsch calculated in a broadcast on Monday. In February, a law was passed that should intercept 80 percent of the increases.
The reason for the higher fees was the increase in electricity prices on the electricity markets, which had an impact on grid fees. According to E-Control, this resulted in an average increase of 44.8 percent in January and February for industry, households and trade. According to the broadcast, the government provided around 558 million euros to cushion the costs.
