One fact that stands out is that February’s exports represented 51.8% of the production of the same month and 48.1% of the accumulated, which marks the importance of foreign markets in the growth of the activity.

Regarding the identification of exports by destination, it was noted that during the first two months, 53.3% of shipments, equivalent to 18,829 units, went to Brazil, a figure that, although high, is well below the historical 80% it had years ago.

In market diversification, Colombia was the destination of 11.4% of national exports so far this year, the same weight as Peru, followed by the Central American countries with 9.1% of the total, Chile 8.2%, and Uruguay 1.6%, Ecuador 1.2% and 1.1 % from Mexico.

Finally, in wholesale sales, the automotive sector marketed to the dealer network 30,125 units in February, volume 8.5% above the volumes of the same month last year and 36.2% above the performance of January 2023.

Comparing the two months of 2023 with respect to 2022, an increase of 14.6% was registered, since 45,579 vehicles were delivered in the first two months of 2022 and 52,237 in the recent period.

The weight of nationally manufactured vehicles reached 60% of the total market in February, which was reflected in the fact that the three best-selling models left local terminals: the Fiat Cronos that is produced in the province of Córdoba, the Peugeot 208 in the Buenos Aires town of El Palomar, and the Toyota Hilux pick-up, from the Zárate district in the north of the province of Buenos Aires.
