AFIP detected evasion in the payment of taxes due to undeclared possession in virtual wallets

The Federal Administration of Public Revenues found irregularities in the fiscal situation of 184 taxpayers, for a total taxable amount of $1,523,241,357.

The Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP) detected 184 contributors with unreported balances for a total of just over $1.5 billion that they had in their virtual wallets.

The control tasks were concentrated in the Affidavits of Personal Assets Taxto verify that they included the correct externalization of cryptocurrencies and other assets.

After carrying out different controls and crossings with the information available in databases, the AFIP detected irregularities in the tax situation of 184 contributorsfor a total taxable amount of $1,523,241,357.

The intimidated taxpayers had in their virtual wallets pesos, foreign currency and cryptocurrencies that they did not include in their affidavits of Personal property of the fiscal period 2021 or that they did it for a less than actual value.

The inconsistencies -says the AFIP in a statement- “they were found after the controls optimization about the growth that the transactions with virtual wallets and crypto assets over the last few years.”
