Bauhaus opens a new location in Sankt Pölten

On Friday, the company opened a new location in Sankt Pölten, the capital of Lower Austria. It is the 21st in Austria.

Bauhaus invested more than 25 million euros in the specialist center and created 100 jobs. The location is divided into 15 departments, 120,000 products are listed on 16,000 square meters of retail space.

In Austria since 1972

Bauhaus is one of the largest hardware store chains in Europe. The idea goes back to the German entrepreneur Hans-Georg Baus: He founded the hardware store chain in 1960 based on the US model. In 1972, Bauhaus entered the Austrian market with the Linz location, and in 1982 Bauhaus moved its Austrian headquarters to Wels. According to the company register, sales in Austria amounted to around 390 million euros.
