This is what Markus Achleitner said yesterday, Wednesday, at a press conference in Linz: “The mood in the companies is turning positive.” There is no danger of recession in sight.
In terms of parameters such as the labor market, exports, start-ups and research activities, Upper Austria is ahead of other federal states. According to the state’s calculations, economic growth was 5.1 percent last year, this year it should be 0.6 percent and next year 1.9 percent. All values are above the Austrian average.
Achleitner and Werner Pamminger, head of the Business Upper Austria location agency, emphasized Upper Austria’s position in a European comparison. This is evidenced by EUR 19.8 billion that foreign companies invest with us every year. That is ninth place among the smaller regions in Europe.
Business Upper Austria advises, networks and accompanies 3,000 companies every year, 85 percent of which are small and medium-sized enterprises. (Rome)
