The Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP) has “everything prepared” to start implementing the agreement for automatic exchange of tax information with the IRS (Internal Revenue Service), its counterpart in the United States, highlighted the head of the organization, Carlos Castagneto.
Castagneto considered in dialogue with Télam “a very important step” the signing of the agreement with the United States in December of last year, for which As of September, the exchange of tax information between the AFIP and the IRS will begin to be operational.
“Argentina has agreements with more than 140 countries through the OECD”, He recalled, in addition to pointing out that with the US “there was already an agreement signed by which I asked for Juan and they could ask for Susana”, although with the new agreement it will become automatic and massive.
The head of the AFIP indicated that “The agreement is going to come into force in September of this year and we already have everything prepared, We bought the backup software that the US Treasury was asking for.”
Meanwhile, he said, “we were able to fix that, instead of passing one by one, we pass (the information) in batches and we are already receiving information from the US. Therefore, we have already made some adjustments and we also have a lot of information that we are crossing with the US and other countries.”
“In recent months we have created specific departments of Fisheries and Agriculture. We are generating a record in Mining, which is at a very high degree of progress and we detected, for example, that in lithium they are paying for exploration, when they are in the stage of development. The same as in Vaca Muerta, where we found an oil company that underinvoiced exports. We are not going to allow them to evade us and elude us and we are going to put a lot of emphasis on everything related to natural resources,” she pointed out.
also highlighted “the incorporation in all companies of the digital Salary Book”a task in which progress is being made to do the same with salary receipts.
“And as for taxpayer service, today you can enter ‘My Argentina’ and see the last three months of contributions; in the last seven months it was possible to regularize the situation of 100,000 workerswhose contributions were being poorly made by the companies,” he said.
Castagneto highlighted the incorporation of “all digital sales platforms, since before there was only MercadoLibrebut the rest did not pay anything.
“The measure increased the collection and it seems to me that it is fair, because a merchant who has sales to the public pays a lot of taxes and the platforms were not paying taxes,” he warned.
In another order, he mentioned the changes in foreign trade, with the implementation of SIRA and Sirase instead of SIMIby the SIRA and the Sirase and the limitation of the automatic licences, with which “the precautionary ones were practically reduced to zero”.
“We want an active AFIP, a body that has to work intelligently, with a risk matrix, without targeting anyone in particular, but activities in general,” he concluded.
