In addition to Eamonn Brennan, the former head of the Irish aviation authority and general director of Eurocontrol, the Austrian ex-politician Elisabeth Köstinger (ÖVP) is also moving into the airline’s control committee.
Elisabeth Köstinger was a member of the European Parliament from 2009 to 2017 and then Minister for Agriculture, Sustainability and Tourism. She retired from politics last year to become CEO of Austrian ESG fintech Mountain View Data. She only recently retired from that role.
“From April, as a former tourism minister, I will bring my expertise and passion for the growth of the European tourism industry to Ryanair’s board of directors,” Köstinger said in a statement. “As a member of the Board of Directors, I will work to ensure that Ryanair continues this success story and further expands its position as Europe’s largest airline,” she added.
