The will to change is there – at least in politics. Because it is now driving new regulations: The traffic light agreed on Wednesday roughly on a slightly weakened form of the controversial ban on installing oil and gas heating systems from 2024. The decision now states that from 2024 “every newly installed heating system should be 65 percent operated with renewable energies”. Heating with fossil fuels should continue to be used if they rely on climate-friendly gases in the future. The replacement of heaters is to be funded with funds from the KTF climate protection fund.
