Asteroid Citythe new movie Wes Anderson presented its first trailer. The film takes place in a fictional American desert town circa 1955, shows Scarlett Johansson like a movie star Tom Hanks like a grumpy grandfather and Jason Schwarzmann like a recent widower trying to fix his car. Also, there is an alien.
The official synopsis for the film reads: “The schedule of a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention, organized to bring together students and parents from across the country for fellowship and academic competition, is spectacularly interrupted by world-changing events.”
Anderson newcomers Johansson and Hanks join Anderson regulars Schwartzman, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Jeff Goldblum, Tony Revolori and Liev Schreiber. The massive A-list ensemble includes Hope Davis, Stephen Park, Rupert Friend, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Hong Chau, Willem Dafoe, Margot Robbie and Jake Ryan.
The film will have its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, its world premiere is expected for June 2023.
