The secretariats of Transportation Management and Transportation Planning created a working group to address the emergency situation that the automotive freight transport sectordue to the decrease in activity due to the drought.
Both areas, dependent on the Ministry of Transportestablished the creation of the scope of work with the cameras related through Joint Resolution 1/2023, published in the Official Gazette.
According to the recitals, “the representative chambers of the business sector have noticed a drastic drop in activity as a result of the drought of public knowledge, which has generated a critical situation in the field of automotive grain transport”.
In this framework, it was understood “timely and convenient” to create the work table to deal with this situation.
It will treat “any matter that affects the normal performance of the activity“, either because of the drought or because of “existing problems”.
The space will have a weekly meeting in which it will prepare, once finished, a minute where it is reflected the development and evolution of the proposed objectives.
Its integration will be made up of both Secretaries of Transportation Planning and Management, and representatives of carrier chambers, representative of the cargo transportation business sector.
The aforementioned chambers are the Federation of Argentine Transporters (Fetra), the Argentine Confederation of Cargo Motor Transport (Catac), the Argentine Federation of Cargo Motor Transport Business Entities (Fadeeac); and the Argentine Federation of Transport and Logistics Entities (Faetyl).
Among the issues to be discussed -whether at the initiative of the National State or at the request of the representative entities of the sector- are “the implementation of measures tending to eradicate situations of abuse of a dominant market position, as well as tariff distortions as a result“; and the “proposal for policies tending to the protection of sources of work within the framework of regional economies.”
The space will also be open to the proposal, management and evaluation of “promotion and compensation instruments for the activity to reduce regulatory costs“, especially through the Integrated System for the Improvement and Professionalization of Freight Trucking (Simpac).
The table may also invite other public or private organizationsboth of the field national as provincialif the topics to be discussed require it.
Parallel to the national space, yesterday the Buenos Aires government agreed with the cameras on the formation of a provincial working group, with the aim of defending jobs in the sector and regional economies.
