Due to the frost, the Government declared a state of agricultural emergency in Córdoba

The measure will be extended from March 1, 2023 and until August 31, 2023 for agricultural, forestry and fruit and vegetable farms and until February 29, 2024 for livestock, dairy and beekeeping farms.

The decision was formalized through Resolution 589/2023 of the Palacio de Hacienda, published this Thursday in the Official Gazette.

Both August 31, 2023 and February 29, 2024 are the end dates of the production cycles for the affected farms, the Ministry clarified.

At the same time, he pointed out that in order to qualify for the benefits provided by Law No. 26,509 (agricultural emergency), affected producers must present a certificate issued by the competent authority of the province, stating that their properties or farms are included in the cases provided for in this standard.

The provincial government must send the list of affected producers to the National Commission for Agricultural Emergencies and Disasters, while the national, official or mixed banking institutions and the AFIP will arbitrate the necessary means so that these producers and them enjoy the benefits of the law.

During the past month, the Government of Córdoba had presented Provincial Decree No. 376 of March 29, 2023 to that National Commission, for the purpose of requesting the application of the law.

Cordoba producers were affected by the phenomenon of localized frost in productive areas during February of this year.
