The Ministry of Energy ordered an increase of 8.54%, retroactive to April 1, of the maximum reference prices of 10, 12 and 15 kilogram bottles for fractionators, distributors and sales to the public.

The Secretary of Energy provided for an 8.54% increase, retroactive to April 1, of the maximum reference prices of the carafes of 10, 12 and 15 kilos for fractionators, distributors and sales to the public, as well as butane and propane for producers adhering to the Hogar program, through resolution 326/2023 published today in the Official Gazette.

Besides, Through resolution 331/2023, assistance of $948,275,757.45 was authorized for twenty producing companies, with the purpose of ensuring the supply of carafes in low-income homes.

In this way, the maximum reference price for the 10-kilo carafe became $724 as of April 1 (against $667 previously) for fractionators, $1,270 ($1,171 previously) for distributors, and of $1,334 (previous $1,229) for sale to the public.

In the case of 12-kilo units, the maximum prices went from $800 to $869; from $1,405 to $1,525; and from $1,475 to $1,601; while in those of 15 kilos from $1,000 to $1,086, from $1,756 to $1,906; and from $1,844 to $2,001, respectively, always in the values ​​from March 1 to the new ones from April 1.

For his part, the maximum reference price per ton of butane and propane for producers will be $38,704, with an increase of 8.47%.

In the recitals of the measure, it was indicated that “the maximum reference prices play a fundamental role in order to effectively comply with the objectives outlined in Law 26,020”, of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Industry and Commercialization Regime.

Among those goals “It stands out, mainly, that of ensuring the economic supply of LPG to low-income residential social sectors that do not have natural gas service through networks”, added.

The last price update occurred on March 21 and Energía considered an increase necessary, “taking into account the variation experienced in the values ​​associated with the production of LPG, as well as the costs observed in the segments of fractionation, distribution and trade retailer”, although “always maintaining the protection of vulnerable users through the Home Program”.
