Edesur will face a new million-dollar fine for the cuts in February

The Comptroller of National Electricity Regulatory Entity(IN RE), Walter Martelloreported this Thursday that the energy distribution company of the southern zone of the Metropolitan Area of ​​Buenos Aires (AMBA), Edesuryou will have to pay a total of $126,980,037 as compensation to 60,150 users who were affected by power outages between February 6 and 16.

This was stated by the ENRE through a statement, where it stressed that this amount confirms the second fine of a set of sanctions that the Entity applied to Edesur before the succession of extraordinary affectations registered between December 2022 and March 2023which so far total more than $259 million in compensation to 137,322 thousand users.

“This new sanction represents the sum of the bonuses that Edesur must prove automatically in the next invoices of the users who, in the mentioned period, suffered power outages of a minimum of 10 hours continuously”, the ENRE specified.

Likewise, he explained that “in each settlement of the electric service, the express mention of the resolution, the determined credit and, if the credit exceeds the amount to be paid, the remaining balance must appear, which must be computed in the next bill.” ”.
