The first “Expo Té Argentina” will be held at the Knowledge Center of the city of Posadas, province of Misiones, next Thursday to Saturday, where experts in the field, producers and tea lovers will meet to taste gourmet flavors and aromas and analyze businesses around the growing tea industry.
Organized by the Ministries of Agriculture and Production; of Tourism; and Acción Cooperativa, Mutual, Comercio e Integración de Misiones, the event will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the arrival of tea in Argentina, whose first plantation was in missionary territory.
“The objective of the expo is to publicize the power of the Argentine tea industry, promote tea establishments as tourist destinations, position tea as a healthy drink, promoting tea culture, internal consumption and sales in the national market” , they indicated from the agricultural portfolio.
In addition, there will be tastings of the outstanding “blends” (mixtures of loose tea) from Misiones.
Meanwhile, attendees will be able to tour the stalls of local producers and learn more about the tea production process, from harvesting to packaging.
Also, talks will be organized on the history and culture of tea in Argentina, where the influence of European immigrants on the production and consumption of this drink will be highlighted.
