The Ministry of Energy ordered a 3.97% increase, retroactive to May 8, in the maximum reference prices for 10, 12, and 15-kilo bottles. How much will the increase be?

The Secretary of Energy provided for a 3.97% increase, retroactive to May 8, in the maximum reference prices of the carafes of 10, 12 and 15 kilos for fractionators, distributors and sales to the public, as well as butane and propane for producers adhering to the Hogar program, through resolution 391/2023 published today in the Official Gazette.

On the other hand, the values ​​were established from June 1, July 1 and August, with increases of 4.03%, 4.01% and 3.99%, respectively. Thus, the values ​​will be for the 10-kilo carafe of $783 (June), $814 (July) and $847 (August) for fractionators; of $1,374, $1,429 and $1,486 for distributors; and $1,443, $1,501 and $1,561 for sale to the public.

In the case of 12-kilo units, the maximum prices will be $939 (June), $977 (July) and $1,016 (August) for fractionators; $1,649, $1,715 and $1,783 for distributors; and $2,164, $2,251, and $2,341 for sale to the public.

While in those of 15 kilos they will be $1,174 (June), $1,221 (July) and $1,270 (August) for fractionators; $2,061, $2,144 and $2,229 for distributors; and $2,164, $2,251, and $2,341 for sale to the public.

For his part, the maximum reference price per ton of butane and propane for producers will be $40,252 starting this month, with an increase of 3.99%; of $41,862 since June and 3.99%; $43,557 from July and 4%; and $45,278 since August and 3.99%.

In the recitals of the measure, it was indicated that “the maximum reference prices play a fundamental role in order to effectively comply with the objectives outlined in Law 26,020”, of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Industry and Commercialization Regime.

Among those goals “It stands out, mainly, to ensure the economic supply of LPG to low-income residential social sectors that do not have natural gas service through networks”he added.

The last price update occurred on April 25 and Energía considered an increase necessary, “taking into account the variation experienced in the values ​​associated with the production of LPG, as well as in the costs observed in the segments of fractionation, distribution and trade retailer”, although “always maintaining the protection of vulnerable users through the Home Program”.
