The president of the Argentine Chamber of Commerce (CAC), Natalio Mario Grinman, pointed out today that during the government of Mauricio Macri “There were drawbacks and it was not the best in economic terms for the business sector.”
Grinman, in statements to Futurock, also said that in Argentina “businessmen are allergic to uncertainty Sometimes we overmark because we don’t know if we are going to be able to replace the merchandise, because the worst thing that can happen to a merchant is lose your stock, which is like the muscle mass of the human body”.
When asked about the government that turned out to be worse for the sector, the president of the CAC replied that “during the government of Cambiemos there were drawbacks and it was not the best in economic terms for the business sector, but the Argentine businessman has an enormous capacity for resilience”.
Elections 2023 from the perspective of the businessman
Regarding the presidential elections, Grinman maintained that today “there are three candidates who guarantee not to go to a Chavista system, with nuances,” and expressed that the businessmen he represents “we like the institutionalitymarket to the world, and predictability.”
Along these lines, he added “uncertainty bothers us, (Javier) Milei is something newdisruptive and We don’t know how it can work.”

Grinman: the expectation for Argentina
Likewise, he said that they are “concerned about the course of the country but also with an interesting expectation of what can happen in 2024, which will be a year with higher inflation than in 2023, by the inertia of everything that is happening”.
However, he considered that “when the entire coal sector begins to function fully in Argentina, I think it will have a totally different matrix.”
Grinman questioned that “in Argentina private formal employment does not grow, with very old labor laws and also Argentina is the country with the lowest density of companies per thousand inhabitants and while in Chile there are 50, in Brazil 26, in Argentina only 13″.
The entry of Argentina to the BRICS
When asked about the announcement of Argentina’s entry into the Brics, the business leader said that “there are issues that make noise. A government that is three months away from completing its function in terms of geopolitics would be preferable to have consulted with Congress.
After which he added that -in his opinion- “the Brics is not a business area, it is a geopolitical alignment”.
In this sense, he declared himself in favor of the concretion of a free trade agreement between the EU and Mercosur “because it means expanding a space to a very interesting market, with widely democratic countries.”
