The Secretary for International Economic Relations, Cecilia Todesca Bocco, held a series of work meetings in Tokyo yesterday related to the increase in trade relations between Argentina and Japan, as a framework prior to the official visit that Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero will carry out between today and tomorrow, where he will be received by Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, senior authorities and prominent local businessmen.

Among other activities, Todesca Bocco met with the Executive Vice President of JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), Mio Kawada. This entity aims to identify sectors where Japanese companies can invest, and they are particularly interested in opportunities related to the energy transition, digitization, mining and food. Trade between Argentina and Japan has been recovering in the post-pandemic. In 2022, exports totaled US$794.6 million, with an interannual growth of 10.1%.
