He Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) approved this Tuesday a credit of US$185 million that will allow Expand the transportation capacity of the President Néstor Kirchner Gas Pipeline -inaugurated last month-, managed jointly between Energía Argentina and the Secretary of International Economic and Financial Affairs, of the Ministry of Economy, in charge of Marco Lavagna.

“This loan constitutes strong support for the gas pipeline expansion program that we are carrying out and demonstrates that with planning, effort and commitment, Argentines can face fundamental works to value our Vaca Muerta gas. In addition, with these works we continue to advance at firm step to achieve the desired energy sovereignty”, highlighted the president of Energía Argentina SA (ENARSA), Augustine Gerez, in an official statement.

In this way, and with a total investment of 200 million dollars, the construction and provision of 4 turbochargers in the gas pipeline route will be financed through the CABEI credit: two additional to those of Tratayén and Salliqueló and two new ones at the height from Chacharramendi. This will make it possible to increase transportation capacity by 9.5 million cubic meters per day.

Therefore, Gerez pointed out that these compression plants are necessary to supply the second stage of the President Néstor Kircher Gas Pipeline, between Salliqueló and San Jerónimoas it will also make it possible to “definitely change the energy and production matrix of our country,” the official completed.

Finally, the President Néstor Kirchner Gas Pipeline injects 11 million cubic meters per day into the main network and it is estimated that when the Tratayén and Salliqueló compression plants are completed it will reach 21 million cubic meters per day, while with this financing it will increase its volume to 30 million cubic meters per day, detailed the document.
